AMENDMENTS TO AWARDS

~VT"> WELLINGTON, August 26. A statement made by the Registrar of the Arbitration Court on the authority of the Court, says the Court has amended a number of awards and agreements of its own motion, 70 amending orders already having been issued, and a further 80 being in the course of preparation. These should be issued within the next week or so. "The amendments issued to date will give employers' and employees' organisations an idea of the lines upon Which the Court is working, and ' the Court suggests that parties to awards and agreements, which have not already been amended, or which are not likely to be amended in the next two weeks, should confer forthxvith, xvith the Objeet of Teaching an agreement. If the parties are unable to agree tlie Court requests that it be advised at the oarliest possible date, and it also requests that at the same time it be given an indication by the parties xvhether they wish the Court to proceed with the amendments of its own motion. If they desire this procedure to bet-atidjit-ed the parties may make writfen submissions, giving their views as to the nature of the amendments, xxffiich in their opinion should be made.
