BRIDE IN WHITE SATIN
PRETTY WEDDING AT OHAU St. John's Church, Ohau, was recently the scene of a very pretty wedding when Joan Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Mudge, of Ohau, was married to . James Harold Jack, youngest -son of Mr. and IVIrs. E. Hogg, also of , Ohau. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a g'own of white self-pattern'ed satin and a beautifully embroidered veil surmounted by orchids. She carried an exqiiisite bouquet of cyclamen and freesias. The bridesmaids, Misses Betty and Hazel Mudge, sisters of the bride, wore sea-green crepe gowns with veiling to match, which covered their hair and was held in place by matching flowers. Their bouquets were of autumntinted freesias and chrysanthemums. The bridegroom was attended by ' Mr. D. Sorenson, of Levin, as bestman, and Mr. J. H. George, of Levin, as groomsman. Mr. and Mrs. Mudge, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Hogg, received 'the guests in Williams' reception room. Visitors were present from all over the Wellington Province, including the bride's grandmother from Blenheim: Mrs. Mudge wore a black ensemble with red shoulder spray, while Mrs. Hogg chose a pale wine frock relieved with black. In the evening the bridegroom's patents, assisted by the bride's parents, entertained about 300 guests at an after wedding dance. The bridal party was present, the happy couple leaving during the evening for their honeymoon in the north. The bride travelled in a green silk frock, with cream lace trimmings, and smart coat and hat with black accessories.
