QUALIFYING ROUND WON BY MRS. FRANKLIN
The second qualifying round was played bv the lady members of the Levin Golf Club last week and was won by Mrs. Franklin with a nett 73. The results of the Aratangata Cup to date are as follows:-^— First rcund: Mrs. Dickinson beat Mrs. Eorter, Mrs. Denton won by default from Mrs. Long, Miss Hosie won by default from Miss .Scott, Mrs. Frederikson won by default from Mrs. M. Wilson. Second round: Miss Herrick lost to Mrs. Richards, Miss Phillips lost to Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. Hunter lost by default to Mrs. King,' Mrs. Dickinson lost by default to Mrs. Denton, Miss Hosie iost to Mrs. Frederikson, Mrs. J. Clark lost to Mrs. ,H. Black, Mrs. Standen lost to Mrs. McClune, Mrs. Hastedt lost by default to Mrs. Ryder. On Wednesday last a team traveled to Otaki, where they were soundly beaten by 13 games to 4, with one match halved. Individual results were as follows, Levin players being mentioned first: Mrs. Hastedt halved with Mrs. Higginson, Mrs. Long beat Mrs. Bradford, Miss Herrick lost to Mrs. Winterburn, Mrs. H. Black beat Mrs. Simcox, Mrs. Denton beat Mrs. Lea, Mrs. Richards lost to Miss Lea, Mrs. Ryder lost to Mrs. Hensbane, Mrs. Frederikson lost to Mrs. Sutherland, Mrs. Standen lost to Miss Swabey, Mrs. McClune lost to Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. King lost to Mrs. Harper, Mrs. Cameron lost to Mrs. Derham'. The following is the draw for the second round of the special trophy, which will be played on Wednesday: Mrs. H. Black and Mrs. Hastedt, Mrs. McClune and Mrs. Standen, Mrs. Ryder and Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Franklin and Miss Herrick, Mrs. Frederikson and Mrs. Denton, Mrs. Cameron and Mrs. King, Mrs. J. Black and Mrs. Corry, Mrs. Hunter and Mrs. Scott, Mrs. W. Walker and Mrs. Wilson. The following games will be played at the weekend: Mrs. Porter and Miss Hosie, Mrs. Dickinson and Miss Phillips. The draw for intermediate and C grade midweek players will take ulace at the clubhouse. The following is the draw for the weekend players: Miss Kilsby and Miss P. Todd, Miss B. McMinn and Miss Franklin, Miss A. Todd and marker. In the C grade competition, Miss A. Todd is leading with 10 points. Mrs. Lester with 6 points and Miss L. Franklin with 4 points are the nearest to the leader. Mrs. Bonner and Miss Franklin are on tea duty at the weekend.
