RAHUI THIRDS BEAT SHANNON

One of the brightest exhibitions of rugby between third grade players this year was the game on the Otaki Domain on Saturday, when Rahui secured a well-earned victory over Shannon by nine points to nil. From the initial whistle to the final the game was full of interest, and play of a pleasing standard, both in the backs and forwards, was the order of the day. The first score came from a penalty goal by R. Giddens.-A wellearned try by L. Merwood was followed by one by W. Waaka. The winning team certainly did credit to the coach, Mr. C. Pussell, who has persevered with . players throughout the season. Among the best backs in the Rahui team were A. Winterburn, W. Waaka and R. Raika, while L. Merwood was an outstanding forward. He received strong support from L. Giddens and D. Hurley. Mr. D. Cole controlled the game.
