The bracketed pair began to mov'e up approaching the haif-mile and, t-ravellfng very fast, they were together in front two furlongs from hbme. Next in order at that stage were Gold Peg, Canironian and Aberhall, with Dundee Sandy and Co.untless improving. A furlong from the post Highland Fling had charge and he went on to win decisively by over a length from Dundee Sandy, a head in front of Cameronian. Countless was alihost in line with the third horse and next honte were Highland Scott, Nyallo Seott, Gold Peg, Battie Colours and YVarform. • . It was a performance of the highest class, for with six furlongs to go Highland Fling was a long way from the leaders, Gold Bar and Turco. Tliere Knave of Diamonds was in tliifd place aliead oi Battie Colours and Emulous. Five furlougs from honie Emulous was lice lengths away from tlie pacemakcr, Gold Bar, aud with three furlongs to go Gold Bar led by two lengths from Turco, a length and a half from Knave of Diamonds. There it was that Highland Fling had raced up to be with Emulous. The two were-travelling fast and they were iu close attendance on Gold Bar into the straight where Highland Fling went on to win by two lengths H'rom Emulous, two lengths in front. of Nyallo Scott. Gold Bar was fourth folloved by Turco, Acropolis, Knave of Diamonds, Countless, Battie Colours, Shadow Maid and Navigate.
