GREEK CABINET RESIGNS

The Prime Minister (Mr. Demetrios Maximos) tendered the resignatiOn of his Cabinet to King Paul, reports the British United Press correspondent al Athens," Mr. Maximos resigned after a ijrovernment crisis when their .Foreign Minister (Constantin Tsaldaris) at .a Cabinet meeting yesterday opposed Vice-Premier Sophocles Yenizelos who suggested a reshnlfle of Cabinet to increase its prestige overseas and efficacy at home. -Three Ministers who opposed Mr. Tsaldu'fis resigned and Mr, Maximos then tendered the resignalions of the whole Cabinet. The King asked Mr. Maximos to remain in office until rhe crisis was over. The Associated Press correspondent in Ath'ens says press reports state that a group of guerrillas from Bulgaria attacked t'oe villages of Neomfrion and Daphne, 12 miies south of the border, burned 40 houses, abducted 13 people and then withdrew into Bulgaria. The Ministry of Public Order announcecl that the. Greek arniy and' gendarmerie killed 18 guerrillas in an engagement near Serres. Btephanos Kalahalikis, who allegedly operated in the Volos area as a right wing guerrilla leader until five months ago, has been arrested ig Athens. Kalabalikis had been sentenced- to death 12 times in absentia. The U.S. State Department announced that twelve Army transports carrying approximately 1S,000,COO dollars worth qf military supplies have already sailed for Greeee and that 30,000 more tons of sueh supplies will leave this week. The Navy has ordered six large pafrolboats off active dnty- for immedi'ate re> fitting-in anticipation of turning thehi over to Greek crews who are due soon for training by the United States Navy.
