Received Sunday, 8.50 p.m. * LONDON, August 24. Four senior officials of "tbe Avro Company were Rilled and two injured when Britain 's new luxury airiiner Tudor II crashed oii Saturday just after taking- oif on b test flight at .Woodford (Chesliire). Those killed were. Roy Chadwick, tcchnieal director, the chief test pilot Sydney Thorn and two members of the company 's flight test section. The flight engineer was admitted to hospital. Mr, SD. Davies, chief designer, escaped with cuts on his faee. Mr. Ghadwick was the designer of the Lancaster bomber. An eyewitness said ' the -aircraft simply dropped and buried its nose in a pond at the- south end of the airfield. Tudor II was one of the bestequipped airliners for passengers' comfort in the world. It carried 36 passengers with sleeping aceommodation for 22, had a ecoktail bar and a wide promenade lounge.
