MONTHLY MEMBERS' NIGHT The monthly members' night of the Horowhenua Scottish Society and Pipe Band was held in the Druids' Hall, Levin, last Thursday evening, there being a good attendance of members. Mr. J. R. Macfarlane, chieftain, after welcpming the visitors, gave a very interesting address on the history of the fiery cross, telling of its origin, With selections by the band 5 and items. interspersed with dances, a jolly time was spent by all. A youthful visitor to the town, Miss Leslie Perry, of Lower Hutt, entertained with tap and skipping dance.s which delighted the audience. Two vocal items by Miss J. Munro, with Mrs. R, Maher as accompanist, were much enjoyed, while pupils of Miss Loma Hepworth added to the programme with an exhibition of the Seap Triubhas by Miss Dorothy Bubb and the Highland fling by Miss Jennifer Jack. On Saturday night the usual fortnightly old-time dance was held, when a large crowd was present, proving that these functions are gaining in popularity.
