Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. OTTAWA, August 19. Delegates attendxng a meeting of the cereals comxr.ittee of the Interiiational Emergency Food Council at Winnipeg today, warn-ed of an imuendine- famine in China and India.
The Chinese delegate, Mr. Ghen Cliih Mai, said the 1947 rice crop was very bad and in the coming year Chin^, v/ould have to import 800,000 tons of rice and wheat. 1 The Indian delegate Mr. N. G. . Abhyanker, said India 's position was . desperate — tlie worst for five years. c
