Rus^ia east her 12th, 13th and 14th rotes in the Seeurity Comicil today when Mr. Gromyko voted against the ncmbership applieations of Eire, Trans ■ordan and Portugal. Mr. Gromyko 's oction followed the rejeetion by the •vestern Powers of the membership aplirations by Albania and Outer Moj> golia. Mr. Gromyko said he was unable to ^upport Eire because of her war record t'.nd "friendly relations with the Axis" and that Trnnsjordan was unacceptable because her soveignty was questionable. He said whatever sovereignty
Transjordan enjoyed was the result of -nilateral action by Britain whom nobody had empowered to aet. The Gouncil voted unanimouslv to recommend the admissioir of the Arab Kingdom of Yemen and the new Dominion of Po.kistan. The two Moslem Gtates will becoii-1? »the 56th and 57th members when given routine sanetioa by the General Assembly.
