SUCCESSFUL STREET DAY

PLAY CENTRE'S EFFORT A very suocessful - street and shop 3a'y was held recently by the Levih Nursery Play Centre Committee to raise funds to carry on the centre for another year. The Play Centre is becoming more popular with the young mothers as they realise the pleasure and recreation their children obtain from it. The chairwoman, Mrs. Burdekin, and her. committee, wish to thank the Young Mothers' Club and their chairwoman, Mrs. Hdrvey, for their generous help both in the way of sewing and cooking. Very generqus donations were received from Mesdames J. Corry, S. J. Thompson, C. S. Keedwell, J. E. Rolston, "V/. Davie, L. Lannie, Geange, D: ' Q. Mackenzie and Me'ssrs. Wallace, Urquhart and the Levin "Chronicle." The committee specially wish to thank the street collectors who were Mesda'mes L. Burnham, H. Rodgers, Moxham, J. E. Rolston, Clentworth, Webb, N. M. Thomson, W. H. Hocking, Kerr, A. Galpin, K. Lynch, C. Nichol, W. Neas, D. Reid, G. Knight, J. Clarke, Antcliffe, H. S. VValkley and Miss Atack. The stall holders who had a long and busy day were: — Mesdames Harvey, Hugh Walker, H. S. Walkley, N. Tilley, Clentworth, H. Rodgers, L. Burnham, W. Duguid, H. Black, C. S. Black, W. H. Hocking, K. Lynch and W. Davie. The committee also wish to thank the public for their generous support, and also all the friends and helpers who gave their time and energy to make the day a sucfcess.
