And they said. Believe on the Lord J esus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Note, there is no question here of works. "Etemal Life," Rom. 6, 23. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Note, you do not work for a gift. "Peace with God/' Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Note, it is faith here and not works. Rom. 5, 1. Man says that "Works" are necessary to Salvation. The Scriptures says they are not. Eph. 2, 8-9. For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Reader, Salvation is an inward experience and is a work of Grace in the Soul bv the Spirit of God, while Works follov in divine order and is the outward expression of that which is wrought within. Eph. 2, 10.
