Mr. and Mrs. Basil Wilkinson, of Plimmerton, are spending a holiday with Mrs. Wilkinson's father, Mr. G. Munford, Pretoria Road. No Whitebait Catches Although the whitebait season has been open for some weeks there are no reports of any local fishermen being suceessful, although last week quite a number were on the river bank. A run was reported near Foxton last Friday, but| unfortunately the river rose suddenly and the bait stopped funning. The river has remained at a fairly high level all week. Preparing for Cropping Farmers and market gardeners in the district are now busily engaged in ploughing land for next season's crops. In the Opiki area some thousands of acres are sown in onions and potatoes each year, and tractors are now working long hours preparing the ground. The weather conditions over the past few days have made all classes of farming a very unattractive oceupation. Cost of R.S.A. Parcels The secretary of the local R.S.A., Mr. E. J.
