GIFT EVENING
^ • MISS N. PARLATO ENTERTAINED On Wednesday ev.ening friends of Miss Ngaire Parlato met at the Moutoa Hall for the purpose of entertaining her in view" of her approaching marriage. There was a large attendence and a very enjoyabl'e time was spent in dancing to music provided by Mr. T. East. At a suitable juncture Mrs. S. W. Barber, president of the Moutoa branch of the W. D. F. F., which body was responsible for organising the function, called on Miss Parlato to accept the gifts and, in doing so, extended b.est wishes for her future happiness on behalf of the Moutoa people. Mr. N. Jennings then presented Miss Parlato with a gift from the Moutoa Junior Social Club, with which she has been associated for some time. Mr. Ivan Hedley thanked the speakers for their remarks and those present for their gifts on behalf of Miss Parlato, after which much interest was evinced in the opening of the parcels. Supper was then provided and dancing resumed. Competition winners were as follows: Monte Carlo, Miss N. Parlato and Mr. J. Hedley; Lucky Gay Gordons, Miss N. Parlato and Mr. Jennings; musical sticks, Miss M. Parlato. An enjoyable evening was brought to a close at a late hour with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
