KON-TIKI RAFT IS STRANDED ON REEF
^ Received Monday, 10.15 p.m. NEW. YORK, August 11. The Kon-Tiki raft expbdition ended its 'journey~on the Raroia reef in the Tuamotu Islands when, after three days trying to get around the reef they finally were drawn on to the cor'al reeT where they grounded. All members made their way sa'fely ashore on an uninhabited island and managed to salvage most of the eq-uipment, food and water supplies. They hope to find natives who will assist the'm to get the remaining logs of the raft into . the ,'agoon for -reasseinbly.
