PREPARATIONS FOR SHOW
A. AND P. COMMITTEE MEETS The August meeting of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association's general committee commerced with the preparations for the next annual show, which will be held at Levin early in the New Year. The president, Mr. J. A. Kilsby, was in the chair and there was a good attendance of members. It was decided to purfchase a pony for the usual competition at the show.- It was left to Mr. J. J. Proctor to break the pony in. The ques'tion of side shows was discussed and the general fqeling of the meeting was that it would be pfcferable to /engage side shows singly rather than by empl'oying the Showmen's Guild. The followir g sub-committees were appoinied to draw up the show schedule: — Horses : Messrs. J. Blenkhorn (conVener), J. J. Proctor, G. D. Harrls, V/. S. Long, D. C. Blake, S. W. Barber and V. Bird. The ehairhian q'uoted «some comparative figures from other shows, and pointed out that the Horowhenua A. and P. Association's piifte money was far in 'excess of aiiy other similar association.
