Detective Superintendent Carter, who is in charge of the investigation into the death of William de Long, the taxi-driver whose body was found on August 6 inside his cab on the road between Bristol and Bath, said the police had yesterday interviewed a New Zealand seaman for whom they had been seeking. He gave a satisfactory account of his movements and had now rejoined his ship. He was never under arrest.
