POPULAR GIRL HONOURED
GIFT EVENING AT MANGAORE Frierds from Mangaore and Shannon gathered in the Mangaore social hall on Tuesday to entertain Miss Doris • Beech, a poptilar young Mangaore girl, at a gift eyening. Miss Beech is shortly to be married to Mr. Athol Gunning, . whose work has taken him out of the town, and he was unable to be present at the function. The many guests spent an enjoyable evening participating in a "beetle" competition, the winner of which was Mrs. Jack Campbell. At an oppotune time Mr. C. Elvines extended congratulations to Miss Beech and expressed the hope that- they would enjoy many years of success and happiness together. Mr. J. Baker ' replied on behalf of Miss Beech, and she also extended her thanks to those present for ihe number of useful gifts received. Mrs. Elvines presented Miss- Beech with a beautmil' shoulder spray. Dancing occupied the latter part of the evening.
