WKIJ.INOTON, August 5. The waterfront trouble in Auckland is the principal topic for discussioh at the special meeting begun today of members of the national executive of the New Zeaiand Waterside Workers' Lniort. The national president, Mr, H. Barnes, said he was Uot prepared to comment on the possibility of an extension of the dispute to other poi'ts or on a Government contontion that the union had broken a written undertakuig, thus leading to the possibility of a prosecution. IlLs attitude was that the question was now in the liands of the national executive which was likely to consider also negotiations wiili the Government about union representation in the control of the waterfront industry. After the discussions an announceuient about tlie outcome waj possible. • Mr. Barnes intends to visit the Bouth Island before returning to Aucklaud next Tuesday.
