FIRST ROUND OF COMPETITION COMPLETED Last week cohcluded the first round- of the Horowhenua Miniature Rifle Association's inter-club Poroutawhao by five points to Poroutawhao by two points to three and Levin securing an 8point win over Shannon. A feature of the PoroutawhaoOhau match was the interesting position of the two presidents, who were last to shoot. Both required a possible to wi'n their respective grades and resulted in V. G. Hunter (Ohau) securing 99, which meant the A teams drew, while A. L. Lumsden's 98 was one point short of a draw for Poroutawhao B. Grade , points now read as f ollows : — A grade: Ohau 5, Levin 4, Poroutawhao 2, Shannon 1. B grade: Levin 6, Ohau 4, Poroutawhao 2, Shannon 0. C. grade: Poroutawhao 6, Levin . 4, Ohau 2, Shannon 0.
