Indonesia's fifteen days ot hostilities ended at midnight when the Indonesian President, Dr. Soekarno, broadcast a mess&ge to cerase fire to the Republican Army and figfiting population. "Remain at your posts," he commanded theni as supreme commander of the Republic's forces. A message has;been sent notifying the United .Nations' Security Council of this decision. Dr. Soekarno said the Republic had full confidence in the Security Council that had asked for a finish to the flghting and a world that wanted a peacelul solution of the conflict. The Renublican Government, too, had confidence in its own power. It now remains to see whethef the cease fire that was given both the Dutch and Indonesians is to be effective, says the Australian Associated Press-Reuter correspondent. . No reports have so far reached Batavia indicating violations. The last news of heavy fightihg in Java came from the western sector of the Sourabaya front, where Dutch troops and tanks with air cover yesterday moved west of Tjerme .against the Republicans, who engaged them in numerous clashes, according to a Republican communique. Another Republican report said that three people were killed on Sunday in an air raid on Jogjakarta.
