MURDER CHARGE FOLLOWS DEATH OF MAORI

Jlia son-iu-law has been urrest ed on a tdiarge of murder. Deceased was Alr. Akari]>a Puu, aged 69, u farmer, of Kaikohe. When relatives j'ound Mr. Pou at 11 p.m'. yesterday he was bleeding profusely and although eonseious was unablc to speak. Lying beside hiin were a goll" elub and a boltlo eouta'ining a. sol't drink. After being taken to his hnine he was attended by two district nurses, no doetors being available. The man arrested is .Ngaone te Kata Tahere, aged 39. Mr. Pou was a director of the Kaikohe ( 'ooperative Dairy ( 'oui|jauy and a progressi vc farmer. He was a prominent leader auioug the local Maoris. t
