PETROL TANK EXPLODES IN SYDNEY
Eeceived Sunday, 9.20 p.m. SYDNEY, August 3. Men, women and children were blown oif their feet and six received burns when a petrol tank of 500 gallons capacity exploded in East Sydney. Detectives believe that fumes from the tank were ign'ted by a mateh or cigarette. The explosion shattered jnanv windows, started several small fires and wrecked a s.hed. The tank was iifted 12 feet in the air and cloth.es on a neaj'by line were set on flre, The tank had been removed from a hole in the ground and had recentiy been emptied pejiding : mstallation elsewhere. The police have discovered that a four-year-old boy who is one of the injured was playing nearby with matches. ;
