ARATANGATA CUP GOLF
DRAW FOR FIRST ROUND Extending over two weeks, lady members of the Levin Goif Club commenced play in the Aratangata Cup competition yesterday. Competitors. must play their .games within the fortnight allowed. The draw is as follows: Mrs. Alexander v. Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Long v. Mrs. Denton, Miss Hosie v. Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Frederikson' v. Mrs. Wilson. The following have drawn byes and will play the second round: Mrs. Richards v. Miss Herrick, Mrs. Franklin v. Miss Phillips, Mrs. Hunter v. Mrs. King, Mrs. H. Black v. Mrs. J. Clarke, Mrs. Standen v. Mrs. McClune, Mrs. Hastedt v. Mrs. Ryder. Owing to the small number of senior players, it has been decided to hold a club championship in place of the senior and junior championships of previous years. This will take place tomorrow and the flrst 16 players will qualify. The draw is as follows: Mrs. Franklin v. Mrs. Hastedt, Mrs. Long v. Mrs. Richards, Mrs. H. Black v. Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Hunter v. Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Frederikson v. Mrs. Ryder, Mrs. King v. Mrs. Standen, Mrs. Cameron v. Mrs.- Denton, Mrs. Walker v. Mrs. McClune, Mrs. Clarke v. Miss Herrick. The draw for the intermediate and C grade mid-week players will take place at the clubhouse. The intermediate and C grade weekend players are: Miss P. Todd and Miss Cowan, Miss Kilsby and Miss Coleman, Miss Evison and Miss A. Todd, Miss McMi'nn and Miss Franklin. Mrs. H. Bull and Miss Bevan are on tea duty at the weekend. The Hunter Buttons were held by Mesdames Porter and Ryder after a challenge match with Mesdames H. Black and Alexander.
