INDIA APPROACHING U.N. ABOUT WAR
Received Tuesday, 9.40 a.m. NEW DELHI, July 28. Pandit Neiiru announced that the Interim Government had deciaed to make a iormal approach to the United Nations on July 29, cGncermng tne war in lndonesia. The Government had also decided to terminate aimost immediately the Dutch air services plying over India. mdia would not send arms to Inaonesia because it would be "tantamount to declaring war" on the Dutch, said Pandit Nehru. India haa mformed other Governmfcxus, inciuamg Britain, of its intention to bring the question before the United Nations' Eecurity Council. India had recently exchanged informal notes with Austraiia about lndonesia. Asxed if India would close her ports to Dutch shipping, Fanaiu Nehru said the question had not arisen. Docxers in Karachi condemned what they described as "Dutch aggression agaii^t the Indonesian Kepublic,/ and had unanimously resolved not to load or unload Dutcii ships in Karacni Harbour.
