WELLINGTON, July 28. Salary increases for insurante wofkers are set out in the Netv Zealand insurance Workers ' awarcl issued today by the ' Court of Arbitratioh. The award embodies tlie tefms of settlement reached in Coneiliatioxi Courteil with the Court 's tWo eost-of-livihg bonuses added. Salafy rates now rangfi I'roni £125 in the first year to £500 for the 18th year and thereafter. For femaJe workers the rates are from £125 to £286. In so far as it affeets salaries, the award operates as from April 1 last. The remaining clausCS are effeetiVe as from July 25 and the aWafd will continue in foree until April 1, 1949. The assessors, in reaeliing agreetnent on salaries, recorded thfe following statement: — "The inefeasfes in the rates of pay were made havifig in mind the possibility of an incfease beilig made by an order of the Court of Arbitration under the economic stabilisation regulations and in evCnt Of any such order, the increase in rates should be considered as satisfactibn oi- in part satisfaction of any increase which the Court may award."
