OTAKI -RAHUI CLUB MEETS A meeting of the committee of the Otaki-Rahui Football Club was held on Wednesday night, Mr. E. J. Cook presiding. A match between the local club and Petone, at Petone, was discussed, but the date of play was left in abeyance. . It was stated that Mrs. Franks and Mr. E. Cunnmgham had both made donations to the club, and it wa? decided to thank them for their generosity. Further arrangements were made for Ihe visit of the Wairoa representative team on Saturday, August 16, and the fixture is one that is being looked forward to with interest. It was stated that aecommodation had been made for the visitors, who would arrive on the Friday prior to the game, leaving Otaki for their homes on the Sunday morning. It was agreed that the ground be put in good order, and that a working bee be arranged for the weekend. It was stated that the installation of showers at the domain had been commenced, and it was hoped that hot water would also be installed. On account of representative games at Levin on Saturday it was reported that there would be no football at Otaki. It was decided to lodge a challenge for the McLennan Cup, held by Foxton ,the date of the match to be decided by the union. It was stated that a player of the club had misbehaved himself in the Rahui-Athletic match, and it was agreed that provided he could not leave his work at Pukerua, to request him to forward a letter explaining his side of the case.
