Th,e . curtarh raiSer, , Whifch is scheduled to begin at 1.15 p.m., will; provide the first chance for the pubiic , to witness the quality of the distiict'S junibr football this seasbn. The Wairarapa team is reputed to be a good ohb, capable bf turning on fast and entertaining football, and th'e QOro whenua players will haVe to prove to thfe visitors that th'ey can als'o play this type oi game. Mr. S. Graham has been appointed referee for the bi'bliminary game. At. 2.45 -p.m. the _ two senior B tfeams will take the field to prove to th'e spectators that they are worthy of wearing their respective union's colours. Both these teams are as ybt untried, and it is hoped that they will settle down quickly and prb'duce the type of football that appeals to fans. , Mr. F. G. Carrington will control this game.. The Wairarapa players and officials will arriv'e in Levih on Satiirday morhing, when they will be met by local union officials and entert'ained at lunch. The junior players, it is undefstobd, will leave o:n. their long return journ'ey shoftly after the Conclusion of their match. The seniors Will be entertained in Levin after their game, and later in the evening they will be thfe gufests of the Athletic Club at a danfefe in the Regfent Hall. Officials appointed to care for the visitors are Messrs. A. Gillespie and T. Winiata. Thfe mahagers of the
Horowhenua teams are Messrs. D. Cole (seniors) and C. E. Wiseley '(juniors) . Thfe lbcal juniors are asked to assemble at the main entrance to the domain no later th'an 12.30, when they wiil be met by Mr. Wiseley. The Municipal Band has kindlyj c'onsented to be in attendanee at ( the- domain from 1 p,m., and will j entertain the pubiic with a selection of numbers which will be fully appreciated. The band will assemble at the bahdroqm in Baih Street at about 12.30 and, under the conductorship oi Mr. G. R. Lester, will march through the town, down Queen Street,. to the domain. An interesting programme containing many rugby :notes will be on sale at 6d per copy. The prices of admission are ls 6d to the ground and 6d to the stand.
