FARMERS IN COURT AFTER BRAWL

NELSON, July 23. No fewer than 20 cliarges arisiiig- out of oue set of circumstances, a fracas between neighbouring farinei's- in Maruia 1 alley, near Murchison, occupied the attention of the Magistrate, Mr. Maunsell, at the Murchison sitting of the Court. Alma Olga Terrill, aged (55, was sentenced to 14 days ' imprisonment on a charge of presenting a firearm with intent to do bodily harm. Ed ward Ohristian Morbeck, aged (55, was fined £10* and costs £5 5s for assault, defendant being graixted leave to appeal. Other cliarges o£ assault brought -bv the participants in the iight against eaeh other and also claims for damages, were adjourned. r The evideuce showed that -Eolffe J. Terrill, accompanied by Douglas G. Norriss and Arthur R. Norriss, went to the farm of Mrs. Alma O. Terrill. for a kull. A dispute arose between . Ed ward Christian Morbeck, an empfoyee on Mrs. Terrill 's farm, and Eolfe Terrill, part owners of the .b'ull.- A fight. ensued in which Terrill,suffer.ed a cut head when he was hit with a batten.
