39TH ANNIJAL MEETING The thirty-ninth annual meeting of the Shannon Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was held in Laurvig's Hall on Saturday afternoon. The attendance of shareholders was not as large as usual. In presenting the company's report, Mr. W. E. Barber, chairman of directors, stated that the output for the season was 1273 tons, being an increase of 40 tons on last year. The average payment for the previous season was 20.838d. The advance for finest grade cream this past season was 19d, and an extra payment of 3d per lb. was being made out of the appropriation account. The payment over all grades of cream was 18.918d, together with the extra payment of 3d plus veterinary levy of .05d and free Exporter and Herd Testing subsidy of .009d gives an average payment over the season of 21.977d. The average grade of butter over the season just qompleted was 93.283. The store department saies amounted to £38,391, said Mr. Barber, and a rebate of five per cent. on shareholders' store accounts had been made over the twelve months, amounting to £1097. In the farm cost allowance the sum of £1533, being 3.904d on 94,213 lbs. of butterfat and £48846 being 5.185d on 2,261,004 lbs. of butterfat has been paid direct to the suppliers. Mr. Barber concluded his report by expressing the thanks of the directors, and shareholders to the scaff for the efficient way in which they had carried out their duties during the year. The retiring directors, Messrs. W. E. Barber and J. B. Gordon, were re-elected, there being no further nominations. The board of directors now comprises Messrs. W. E. Barber (chairman) , W. L. Carter, R. J. Law, R. Hook, H. Aitchison, W. Moynihan and J. B. Gordon. Tribute to Former Mana^er Prior to opening ihe business of the meeting, Mr. Barber paid tribute to the late Mr. James Aim, a former manager of the factory. Mr. Barber and other directors all expressed sympathy at the sudden passing of Mr. Aim, and a motion of sympathy was carried in silence.
