CHRISTCHURCH, Jnly 20. A four yea'r old boy was drowned in lhe Selwyn river at Norwood 011 Saturday afternoon. He was Peter Stockham Y"oung, son qf Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Young 91 Gayhurst Road, Richmond, Christchureh. The boy was last ^een about 2.30 p.m. on Saturday. He wgs playing with two other children while his mother was wash'ing the dishes and his father was absejit vyith g shooting party. When a search by the piqnic party failed to find the boy the police were notified. A Da;'ty under Senior Sergeant J. Ivearns searched the riyer bed until the early hours qf Suaday mornipg without success but the seareh was resumed later in the morning and tlie boy's bpdy was found about 8 a.m. f acq downwards in the main stream about thrqeqqarters of a mile from where he had last been seen.
