NEW PLYAIOUTH, July 20. The rider of a motor eycle was killed instantly and a pillon rider injured when the machfne erashed into.a stationary vehicle in Hakiaha Street, Taumarunui, tonight. They \yere: — Killed: Robert Ellerby, aged 19, locomotive fireman, of Taumarunui. Injured: Percival Dowman, railway eniployee, of Taumarunui, head injuries, condition fairly satisfactory. The motor cycle, according to an eye witness, was travelling at a moderate -speed when it began to backfire and then burst into flames, swerving into a timber truck parked at the kerb.
