RAIL CAR CRASHES INTO TIMBER TRUCK
MELBOURNE, July 20. Forty people were imprisoned . in a two-eoach motor train ^yhieh erashed into a timber truck at a level crossing at Cowarr, Gippsland". The truck driver was killed instantly and five passengers and the driver of the train were injured. Nearby re'sidents heard the train siren sound'ing as it approached the crossing dowp. a short incline and then saw the train and truck mee}; in the centre of the crossing. The force of the collision threw the train on to its side, balanced' on tlxe edg^of " ah embankment.
