^ Personal . , Miss J. B. Scott, of Putorino, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Redshaw, Newtown. Mr. W. H. Roberts returned home yescerday morning after spending a holiday visit to Frankton and Rotorua. Miss C. Sinclair is at present home with her parents on a short holiday foilowing her recent illness. State Houses The second of the State house units at the section on the corner of Margarec and Ballance Streets is beginnmg to take shape, the framework being almost completed. Buildings Being Removed Some of the buildings at the Whitanui detention area are being dismantled prior to being removed 10 Upper Hutt, where they will be re-erected for the Department of Agriculture. State Houses Let It has been advised that the double State house unit in Grand Street has been let and the tenants have been handed the keys. The tenants are Messrs. D. Purcell and E. Veale, both returned servicemen. Flooded Farm for Soldiers At tiie general meeimg of the Shannon Returned Services' Assoi ciarion on Saourday evening, -Mr. S. iW. Barber brought to the notice of members the iact that a farm ! propercy at Buckley, which was j suoject to ilooding, was being taken over for the purpose of a soldiers' IseUlement. 'iiie opinion of the meeting was that the block in its present condition was not smtable tor the purpose uniil it has been suitaoly lmproved. It was decided that the matter be brought to the nouice of the local rehabilitation | committee and request that it investigate aii circumstances in reference to the taking over of the land for rehabilitation.
