.PROGRESS OF COMPETITIONS Having already won the senior rugby championship for. 1947, Foxton got away to a strong start in the Nash Cup competition, which started on Saturday last and will be decided over a single round. Wanderers also had a win and on present form are likely to be the storngest contenders, along with Foxton. Athletic began the season well, but in reqent games there has been a falling off in the standard of their play, with the result that Otaki-Rahui held them to a draw. With the junior championship completed teams in this grade will now play a round for the Licensed , Victuallers' Cup. The third grade competition has now entered the third round. College lead with 18 points and Old Boys are next with 15. The fourth grade championship has reached an interesling position. Foxton and College have ,17 points each and Paraparaumu 16. Foxton will have a bye next week, while College and Paraparaumu have another game each to play. The positions of the teams may be seen from the following table: — Senior — Nash Cup
