NEW INVASION OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED
Received Tuesday, 12.15 p.m. ATHENS, July 14. It was officially announced, . folIpwing a Cabinet meeting, that "a new invasion of Greece occurred this morning." The point of the invasion was not mentioned. The announcement said that the force of ov.er 1000, which was operating yesterday, had been increased to 2500. It added that there were foreign elements among the invaders, but described the existence of an "international brigade" as a rumour. The announcement continued: "Considerable Greek forces are being concentrated to face the menace, and an effort will be made to inarce ironial contact with the invaders. Despite the serious situation, there is ijustified optimism over the eventual outcome. The Defence Minister, chiefs of staff and M. Helmis, Minister of Finance, meet tomorrow to determine the army's immediate needs." The Associated Press says that Government circles are concerned over the "possibility of a guerrilla attack on Janina. A Cabinet Minister told a correspondent that the army was deploying into positions to meet the invaders. A clash might occur at Kaipaki, also known as Alaia, a few miles east of Philiatais and between Janina and Philiatais
