Mrs. But-t presided aver a fair attendance of members at the monihly meeting pf ,th.e JjhakAra Vomen's Institute. An iriterestmg demonstration on coft toy making was given by Mrs. Doyle, who was followed closely jby all present. Mesdames Dovle and Boddy weye g-pppipfed delega.tes to attend a meetirig ' to discuss ways and 'means pf arranging a Christmas party for mriiates of the Levin Farm, Kimberley Road. Social c'ompeti.ions were won by Mesdames Armstrpng (jam) arid Hoddy (chutney ) ". A'limerick popipetition conducted "*b*y Mrs. rimstrong caused much amusement. The u?ual monthly cpmpetitions resulted as follows: — Flower:' Mrs. Ivan Taylor 1, Mrs. Doyle 2, Mrs. Hall 3. Shrub : Mrs. Brooks 1, Mtss Hall 2, Mrs. jR- J- Rolston 3. Veg'etablef Mrs.' R. J. Rolston 1, Mrs. Hudson 2, Mfs. Haslock 3. Pofiits (something new from something • old) : Mrs. Butt 1, Mrs. Haslock' 2, Mesdames Hall and " Turner 3 (equal) . Mesdames Mitchell, McLejn, Nichol and J. H. Rolston served a dainty afternoon tea, after which the riieefing closed with the sipging of the National Anthem. f
