The Russialn Press has not mentioned the betrothal. The New York evening newspapers make no editori'al eomment on the 6ngagement, but Mr. Hearst's JonrnalAmerican, which is ffequently hostile t'o Brftafin^ deVdfed a fulT page to' pictures illustrating Prineess Elizabeth's life. wectdm'g i'n Octdb'e'f? Informed quarters believe that fhe Weddin'g- of Prineess Elizabeth will be in October. It is not likely to b'e in later months, .because bad weather would probably detract from the page antry of the occasion. His Majesty will call a meeting of the Privv Council during the last week in July to approve the betrothal bj Order-in-Couneil. Until then the be trothal has no official status. The Daily Telegraph says that spe'cu lation on the possibility of the wedding leading to a ehange in the name'of the dynasty ended with the authoritative statement that Prineess Elizabeth will remain a member of the House of Wind sor and any descendants will naturally take th6 same name. A Board of Trade official told the Daily Telegraph that Prineess Eliza'beth for her wedding would havd s special allowanee of clothing eoupons. This was a great occasion and would! be" treated as such.
