Preliminary investigations into the whole local government structure of . the Dominion have alreadv been commenced and will be prosecuted aetively in future, says a statement issued tod'ay by the Local Government Commission. The commission will sit at Hamilton on July 28 to consider the question of the eonstitution of a local 1 a'ufh'Offty to eontrol the domain on the shore of Lalce Karapiro. At Dunedin on September 24 the commission Will conduct an inquiry into a pfoposal to create a catchment board for the ' Clutha ba'sin and on October 22 if will , sit at Kaikohe to hear evidence on a proposal' t'o amaiganiate the six nortlii efn hospital boards of Mangonui, Whangaroa, Hokianga, Bay of Islands, ; Kaipafa and Whangarei.
