Warner Bros.' screen version is marked by some notable perf ormances, in particular Olivia De Havilland, as Charlotte, Ida Lupino, as Emily, ..Paul Henreid, as Nicholls (the eurate with whom both girls fall in love) and Sydney Greenstreet as Thackeray.
