MORE ARRESTS IN GREECE
Received Friday, 12.35 a.m. LONDON, July 10. According to official sourees the arrests of Greek Communists alleged to have been involved in a plot against the Government, continued through the nig-ht, says R^euter's Athens correspondent. About 4000 are believed to be under suspicion. . Mr. Maximos said the United States Government agreed with the arrests and' he believed the British Government did also. The police, in a statement on the Left Wing plot, said "Plan F" involved violence in Athens including the murder of politicians, seizure of Ministries and sabotage. The uprising was intended to affect world opinion during the Security Council hearing of the Ballcans Commission's report. Mr. Kanellopoulos, acting Minister" of Interior, said the Communists had been about to launch a terrorist eampaign against Athens. Greek Government circles denied that they negotiated with E.A.M. for a compromise and declared that E.A.M". statements suggesting that a eompromise was likely, were a Communist move to blame the Government if a eompromise did not materialise.
