WELLINGTON, July S. Spcaking in tlie House of Representatives, Mr. E.' B. Gordon, 31. P. t'or Rangitikei, said there were six reasons whv farmers wantixxg to sell their land would: not do so at present. (1) Thev imist sell at 1942 values and be paid in infiated curreney. (2) Tliere were no remunerativc in vestments for the money if a sale was made. (31 If investments were made the investor was subject to the penal tas rate .011 the interest. (4") In many 'eases stoc-k was still at a low valuation and the State would get the benefit. (5) The selling f'anner was denied the right to buv another plaee unless he took rough eountrv.
