SHOOTING COMPETITIONS
AMMUNITION SHORTAGE - DELAYS START Owing to the scarcity of arbmunition, the Horowhenua Miniature Rifle Association has been delayed in the start of its seasons activities. However; the distributian of a recently-arrived shipment has enabled the clubs to Sre the . first of a series of matehes drawn up by the association. • These matehes consist of four grades. Points awarded will be two for a win and one for a draw. The executive this season is endeavouring to secure four shields for the competition grade winners and one" for the club with the highest total points. The first series of these matehes was fired last week and resulted in Ohau winning the A and D grade matehes against Levin. In the Poroutawhao-Shannon match the. results were a draw in the A grade and a win. for Poroutawhao in the B, !C and *D grades. . Individual scores were:— " (. Levin v. Ohau Levin- A-: R.
