AUCKLAND, July 7. An unusual charge, one of unlawfuliy getting intb a motor-car valued at £30U, was denied by David Carroll, labourer, aged 27, before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M. Senior-Detective Aplin said the charge was laid under- the Statutes Amendment Act 1945. Accused denied getting into the car but said he had been interfering with it. A sentence of three months ' imprisonment was imposed.
