JANE RUSSELL IN BREACH CASE

Jane Russell, star of the sexy film, "The Outlaw,".is just a bust as a nightclub attraction. That is the contention of Miami- nightclub owner Ed Loew, who asked the Court- to break a contract guaranceeing the star about £5000- a week. Loew complained that Miss Russell had made an unauthorised free appearance before a Miami benefit ludience and created such a poor ■mpression that many people can■;elled previous reservations to see her at the nightclub. Loew'alleged he chesty Miss Russell's appearance in a high-necked, black silk dress "created a poor impression and dissipated the previous effect built up in the general public's mind as to the personal charm and .ihysical . beauty of the defendant." liss Russell replied that there was aothing in the contract which foriade her making outside appearances. Furthermore, her job was to sing at the nightclub and there had been no complaints about her /oice. The case is proceeding.
