To enable a prlvate maternity hospital in Featherston to cctntinue operating, the Wairarapa Hospital Board has decided to pay a minimum subsidy of £360 per annum to be paid for 80 or fewer patients at the rate of £4 10s per confmement and Ihat the subsidy be increased at the rate of £4 10s pcr confLnement for all in excess of the minimum of 80. The Department of Health sta'ed that the subsidy to the liCencee of the private hospital at Featherston may be increased to an amount considrrnd reasonable but not exceeding £4 10s per confinement.
