Although it is understood New Zealaud has not expressed any defimte views upon dropping the use of the word "Dominion" in its title when, as is generally expected, the Dominions Oflico becomes tlie Commonwcalth (Jffice it is possibly significant that the use of the word Doiuinion on official New Zeo.land Government notepaper and in other directions, i.s being discontinued. Canada, which has deiinitc views on the subjeet, has for sometime been dropping t]ie word Dominion in its ofticial designatjon and as it does not oceur in the titles of Australia and Roulh Africa these have only an academic interest in the matter.
