RIFLE CLUB HOLDS SOCIAL EVENING
Qh Satqrday night the Porouta- ^ V whao Rifle Clpb held a combined card party and dance. Despite the bad weather, the floor was well filled with patrons from Poroutawhao and the surrounding districts. Held in the lounge, the card party was a great success. The explanation pf this may be in the ■fact tliat there was a boke heater burning red hot in this room. Frequently overheard was the remark, "a horne away from home," and there were certainly no complainf:§ pf "cold feet." Patrons are looking forward to the next pf this series of functions.
