The son of Wrack and a grandson of Peter the Great and The Colorado' Belle will be a loss to the New Zealand breeding industry. One of the most suceessful of hls stock is that splendid free-legged performer Casabianca, whiie some of his vvinners at the pac-ing gait include Malce Believe, Ivillowen, Shamus O'Brien, Nelsonova, L'Amour and Sanova. Though he was a fast pacer on private tracks, the best was not seen oi Casanova in races, but he succeeded :n talcing a mile and a half record of ,'imin 16 3-5sec and in earning more than £1100 in stakes for six wins and several minor plaeings before being '3 tired to the stud. Lilce Casanova, Borometer Chimes is a son of Wrack, being from a winner in Edith Chimes, which also left the useful trotter Chiming Wrack and the pacer Ir'aq to Wrack. Barometer Chimes, however, was a disappoi ntment on the race track, and he may have more suecess as a sire. He is to go to Melbourne. Mazaire, which is to go to Messrs Pierce Br others ' stud at Hobait, is by Jack Potts from the Logan Pointer mare Logan Chimes. Foaled in 1932, Mazaire was a fast pacer, his last suecess being at Oamaru on October 27, .1941, when he beat Haughty and Turco in the Dash Handicap. Mazaire is to go to Hobart.
