Members of the Chjirch of Epgjand have jjeen gdyised by the standing committee of the Ghurch of Englaud dioeese of Sydney to descfjbe thenifselves as "Catholie Chureh qf aEngland" in their census returns. The following resolution was passed : "The standing cpinirUtee has had its attentioh directed to the fact that members of the Church of Roihe are' advised to describe tjiemselves as 'CathoJics' jn the fortRcoining census enumeration. While the standing committee rec'ogniges the right of any denomination to describe itself by any title, it would remind members of the Church of England and the community generajly that the Chureh qf England has always claimed to be part of Christ's catholie church and cannot abandon that c'laim.
